Loved the ride up Mt Evans! Or Death Mountain as my wife calls it! Was a beautiful clear day when we were there in 2014! WOW it has been 5 years already!
It was a nice ride. Way up there. Some of it a little rough. Like the last curve before the top a biker flags me down. He was stuck in deep gravel. The two of us pushed him out. Like I wasn’t starved for oxygen already. It was very windy and cold on top. I took three pics and headed down. Lots of goats.
Looks like you had a decent day to ride up there. A few years ago when we went up we got to the top and wandered around for a few then a storm came in. Thunder/lightening/hail and snow on the way down with visibility of about 50ft. Wife swore to never go up there again LOL..... The altitude kicked my **** for sure. Others were walking around while I leaned against the sign that talked to altitude sickness.
I was up there maybe the week before you. If I was alone on the road it would've been about perfect. Somehow I forgot my full finger gloves though. Always something I forget!
