I loved that ride. Pikes Peak was a close second.

FYI I also rode up Pikes Peak. I had to park the bike at mile 16 and ride a shuttle. They are in the process of building a new visitors center at the top. Pretty heavy construction at the top. It will not be completed for a year o two. I had rode up a couple of years ago so no big deal.

I went up a few years ago. Awesome sights. My timing was bad though as there was a lot of people on bicycles going up. With the narrow road and traffic it is hard to pass them and hard to go that slow up the mountain. A lot of clutch work.

I (we've) been there twice on motorcycles (first time in '94) and once by car (in '11).
I could feel a BIG difference in my body which was directly related due to the aging process!

We also did Pike's Peak (on bikes) before it was paved to the summit (in '04) and it's JMHO but I personally prefer Mt Evans.

I was there in June during the Iron Butt Rally. Pretty cool, although the snow in the corners of the switchbacks rather sucked as did the 50mph wind at the top which tried to blow my bike over
