We are planning our trip for next summer. We have done Nova Scotia/Cape Breton a few times, we want to explore the area in and around Quebec City. We are planning on a week there, open to all suggestions.
Wear clothing with an american flag on it. most places are fine but with the american flag they can understand why you dont speak french. i will leave it at that.
Take a trip north on 138 towards Tadousac/ beautiful ride, you can take a ferry ride across St Lawrence and take the south route 132 back to Quebec / spend a night near St Simeon or La Malbaie , ferry only runs once a day[ 915am I believe] We ate at La Boheme Steakhouse in La Malbaie highly recommend / The owner is a Biker , does a lot of Biker events and they have live music on weekends
It's been my experience that Montreal isn't a challenge but the further east you go you're getting deeper into the areas where virtually no one speaks English. Quebec City being one of the areas I was in. Also the old part of the city as mentioned is awesome

exactly this. I have lots of family in Montreal, travel there at least 2x per year, and don't speak much french at all. Never had a problem. I also have an American Flag on my bike
First time posting. Long time lurker.
Check your calendar for the Canadian Holidays. New Brunswick day, first Monday of August, has a impact similar to our 4th of July across the Quebec province. Once drove 120 extra miles to get a hotel room during the New Brunswick holiday Week.
The Gaspe Peninsula, west of Quebec City, rivals the Cabot trail for great riding and scenery. I highly recommend riding the Quebec City Ferry either coming or going from the city for convience as well as a beautiful view of the old Quebec City.

How far from QC to the Gaspe Peninsula? Can different sections be done as day rides? BTW, Thanks to all for suggestions!
