My favorite ski destination in NC. Tons of really good roads in the area. Of course the BRP, head up to Mt. Mitchell, Linville Gorge, Little Switzerland, the Diamond Back Hwy 226. Not far from the Snake and Shady Valley. Highway 16 is awesome. Hwy 194 from Banner Elk to Valley Crucis. Check out Mast General store while there.
Our HOG chapter used to do an annual Hwy 80 ride from Marion up to the BRP.
If you have the wives or girl fiends with you take them to Blowing Rock. The downtown is a cool place. There is an HD t-shirt dealer there also.

10 of us headed down for Memorial weekend. Looking for the must ride roads.
Little switzerland to Chimney rock , via Bat cave rd is a nice ride. have lunch at the lake house bar and grill on 74 then head back towards LS via state rd 1008 (bills creek rd)
Hwy 80 from Marion up to the BRP....back down 226 or up depending on which way you’re coming from. 221 from Boone down that way...209 from Hot Springs to Waynesville then 276 to Brevard, then meander over to HWY 9 back towards Black mountain then back up to Boone area. The Snake to mountain city is nice like Cozmic said. Look at Mapquest or Google maps and find the squirriliest roads on the map and write them down.
Get you a grease pencil and jot the rd# on your windshield this way you can just look at road signs as well as maps or GPS.
