Another vote for Lolo Pass. You have already done the good rides. Why not do them again. TN/NC has some awesome motorcycle roads. Scenic, just not Rocky Mountain scenic. I did CO last year and five years ago. A friend and I are doing it again this year. Glacier twice, YS three times, etc.
I'll be headed that way in July Roadking. 1st time thru Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho.
Others recommended Hells Canyon then over to Sawtooth NF.
Some of my route..
- Laramie - Ranchester - Cody "14"
- Cody-(Beartooth/Chief Jo) Red Lodge - Great Falls
- Great Falls - St Mary (Sun Road)- Kalispell - Missoula
- Missoula (Lolo12) - Cascade - Boise
- Boise - Stanley - Sun Valley - Driggs
- Driggs - (Tetons) Dubois - Cheynne
Thank you all for your recommendations. Looks like I'll be heading to Lolo pass and Hell's Canyon this year.

Thank you! I think I will head that way.

I also visited Yellow Stone during the IBR, it was 24 degrees during the 3rd week of June. If heading in that direction take your heated gear with you if you have it. I have a friend who got snowed in at Bear Tooth Pass that week
We rode Bear Tooth on July 3rd last year. Got snowed on and sleeted on. It was crazy. And I always have my heated hear when heading towards the mountains. Thanks for the reply!

We enjoy riding in Tennessee & Kentucky.
I'll head that direction sometime. What are the temps like in July at those locations? I prefer the mountains to get away from the Kansas heat and humidity in the summer.

You're going to have a blast! Beartooth is amazing, as are the Tetons.

How about throwing in a stop at the Crater of the Moon park? I've never seen that, would like to go through there again
I'm not familiar with Crater of the Moon park. I will certainly look it up. Thank you!

One of the biggest crimes American's make is not seeing their own country. Get off the couch folks, go see America. Stay off the interstates.
I'm off my feet for the next few months but this thread has got me a little invigorated. I'm revisiting this whole summer plan, I think I'm going to try and hit that Crater of the Moon then head on down to Yosemite, to Santa Monica then home.

The one and only time I rode Going to the Sun Rd in Glacier National Park, which was 5 or 6 years ago, I remember thinking I had no idea our country was so beautiful. Sorry to hear you are off your feet, get better soon.
