We had a 18 day road trip planned. Bikes were to be shipped to Calgary from Toronto, ride down into the States and home. All the hotels were reserved, we did have to prepay one room in it's entirety. Our air to Calgary was on points. My wife just cancelled everything, we moved the prepaid room to the same time in 2021, got a credit for our flight and will re-book the trip for 2021. There are lots of places local to me that we can do day trips to. To bad, we were looking forward to this trip, but not willing to take a chance out of country. The next border announcement should be some time in July but I personally don't see it opening.
The border won't be an issue for me this year. I had planned on seeing more of southern Alberta and visiting a friend down there and then hopping out to the west coast. I'd be bummed if I had any state side plans.

I was thinking I might ride my Panhead all the way to Sturgis... but that is very unlikely this year now... But I always do a week or two or three south, that looks to be in the crapper now.
with the way numbers are rising in the US there's no way ... oh hell , Trudeau's gonna open the border for sure because he'd actually have to come out of the house for more than 10 minutes a day and maybe even re-open parliament unless we find a way to get our numbers up . allowing Americans to come up here is a sure way to do that .
sorry guys , normally i'm happy to see you , but not this year
Doesn't look good at all. I've just cancelled my Lake Express ferry booking on the way to Sturgis and with health problems I won't be heading South this year.
Funny yhing with the virus numbers. Confirmed infections are going up. But I have not seen hospitalization numbers. And with the number descrapancies I have seen, I now longer believe most of the numbers. Just working and living as I can. Controlling what I can, and stock piling supplies as I can.
Are the ferries between WA snd BC running?
Not that I plan on traveling until US pandemic is under control. Not likely.
The Blackball ferry... it runs between Port Angeles and downtown Victoria, has been shut down from the end of March... and they are saying it will be August 1st before it will open again... but as I have said, I doubt the border opens this summer with Washington, Idaho and Montana all showing a spike... It is a great ferry trip, I have been on it several times... cars and bikes.
