The west side of the lake is a some what boring ride (IMO) and this time of year Deer can turn up anywhere. It is a worth while ride. As others have said. Get gas, also eat when you find a place . Current condition may mean some places are closed or limited hours.
Weather here seems top be cooling down at night and late in the day. Take rain gear. Enjoy the ride.

once you get above 69, the state changes....90% of MI lives below 69, most in SE MI near Detroit.....once you get up that way, you should find plenty of places serving fresh white fish, trout, pickerel, perch, bass...but those will be near towns near the great lakes moreso....and don't forget the up north pasties
As for fish, past brimley is parishes fish house. Fresh caught and local as it can get. Its a small place on the right on lakeshore drive past brimley. Plus theres the fish market in st ignace that serves local fresh caught. Try the fried whitefish livers if you are in the mood. But please wear a mask when in the UP businesses. As someone that lives in the UP we dont have the resources to deal with a major outbreak. Rates have been climbing steadily since the travel has been lifted and everyone is enjoying the sunshine. Where I live went from 3 cases to 25 in one week. And ontonogin county went from 0 to I think a dozen in the same timeframe.

A very good friend of mine is coming home soon and were planning on doing this the weekend of the 7th. Mainly to ride the bridge lol Any must sees or places to stop along the way?
We did the trip last year, already lots of good info here about roads to ride places to see. But Id recommend going to the HD Museum then taking Ferry out of Milwaukee
back to Muskegon Michigan. Wont have to worry about Chicago. Worked out great for us. It is pricey and call ahead for reservations. Enjoy
