We ended up getting off 75 north of Saginaw and took 23 the rest of the way up. We got to the bridge last night around 7. Riding on that grating is a unique feeling but I still loved it. Bridges always peek my interest.
Today were going north to pick up H58 and ride it over to Munising. Then south to Green Bay and eventually Milwaukee. Were taking the lake express over Sunday afternoon.
Also, had some KILLER whitefish at the hotel restaurant. It was like a steak, but fish lol.
Nice! If you travel through Marinette WI around lunch or dinner stop in at my favorite old time burger joint - Mickey Lou's BBQ. It's right on the main drag on the left heading south. It hasn't changed since the 50s.
Speaking of motel rooms, we stopped in Mackinaw City for a room. We were told we got the last room. When my wife opened the last room door there were a set of feet hanging off the bed. We quietly closed the door and told front desk the room was occupied. The gal behind the counter said she had another last room. It was a chain. A lot of summer weekends there may not be a room in the north.
Well its been very wet. 58 is a hell of a road, I just wish I could have rode it like I wanted to lol
Also for future reference 58 coming out of deer park isnt paved..... that was a white knuckle ride in the rain 😂
Oh brother, I wish I as more specific. No pavement from Deer Park to Grand Marias, need to take 77 north out of Seney to ride pavement. Consider yourself a Yooper for riding that road.
