Hey cprhed, regarding the "Don't." comment, I am not speaking for the chap who posted it, the "Don't." may refer to it being very congested and there are places (like all big cities) where the police go around 2 in a car during the day.
There is another area of town the police do not go bcs they "take care of their own".
There are several areas where, if you wander in, you may not be wandering out.
Also, it could have been meant jokingly.
Either way my friend, my take FWIW, is it's a fine comment and not condescending. If (if) you thought it was an unpleasant comment. It is not they way I see it.
If you do not mind my asking .... on another subject .... I could not gleam from your post why you are going there in the 1st place. I do not think it was for a celebration of your divorce? Yes?
Boston is a huge cultural hub if that is of any meaning to you.
