Alright, we have never been to Sturgis and planning for next year . We are looking for suggestions on B&B in the Rapid City area or anything close to this area. Thanks in advance.
Seems like the question you are being asked is - why are you going to Sturgis? If for the bar parties, then, by all means stay closer to the action. If for the riding, then RC is perfect. I stayed in RC the first time I went.
Also, for each visit (3 times), I went the week before the actual rally start. All of the venders are there and still plenty of bikes. The advantage is - it is not too crowded, and you can ride all you want. That's why we went - to ride the area.
I have stayed in Deadwood and another year in Hill City. Deadwood has more nightlife than Hill City but I found Hill City to be more central for the riding I like. I second going the week before the rally. No long waits to eat or drink and roads are less congested.
Rapid City is too far away from pretty much everything MOST folks go there for, during Rally week. I camp, but in the interest of full disclosure... I'm "Old School". I ride there, not trailer or ship the bike ahead and still can't consider a motorhome with AC, Heat, a full kitchen, big beds and satellite TV to be "Camping" but that's just me and I know it.
whatever you choose...ENJOY...and take clothing and riding gear for pretty much every kind of weather. Hot, Cold, Dry, and WET.
Book NOW, fills up fast after first of the year. Agree with the others. RC is a long ride from Sturgis, especially after dark. Avoid Buffalo Chip, very little rest, unless that's your thing. traffic through town is backed up. If RV'ing, I suggest Rush No More camp ground. Hotels? Avoid Deadwood, prices usually over $400.00 PER NIGHT. The weeks before, during and after the rally are extremely high. Sturgis and vicinity are the epidemy of price gouging. We all know it and come prepared $$$. Beautiful area for riding and most times the weather cooperates. Whichever you choose, start looking and be prepared to book NOW. After 31 consecutive years we have a good idea on what to expect, we booked for our return in 2022 before we left. You will be amazed that the number of people attending the rally, there are no report's of any major crimes. Leave any children at home. Have fun and enjoy your searches.
Thanks for all the suggestions, and after lots of consideration we booked rooms at Hisega adventure lodge . Looks like it will be nice place. Probably my first and last trip to Sturgis I hope it works out for us.
Get out early to ride. Beat the crowd a little. Be very, very careful if you ride after dark. Lots of critters. And make sure you visit Rapid City HD. It is a rally in itself. Enjoy

Most of the big accessory dealers have moved from Sturgis to Black Hills HD in Rapid. There is far more space
