Alright, we have never been to Sturgis and planning for next year . We are looking for suggestions on B&B in the Rapid City area or anything close to this area. Thanks in advance.
Well we dont know much about the area Looking for suggestions anywhere close. A friend suggested B& B, but we havent ruled out driving motorhome and camping.
From RC allow 45 minutes to get up to the central or northern hills, each way everyday. There are plenty of resorts closer to where the riding is - RC is just another city you'll have to escape from to get where you want to be... If you want to be around the party scene Sturgis, Spearfish and Deadwood are closer to the action. If you want to ride Hill City, Keystone and Custer are better options. Many lodging options are available for each area. The temps are much milder on the Hill by 10-15 degrees at times and cooler at night. If you stay on the Hill, I'd encourage you to limit your driving at night, the deer are plentiful and stupid. You might find more camaraderie at a campground\resort than in RC. We've enjoyed meeting riders from all over the country and a few other countries as well.

Thanks for the info, we will start looking in those areas
We rented a house in RC in 2007. The house was cheaper, RC has everything you need as far as restaurants and supplies. But you are far away from the action, but very close to Mount Rushmore. It depends on what your plans are for the event. If you are not drinkers, are you are good at waiting till you get home, RC might be a good opportunity to save some $$$$ and be able to sleep quietly out of town. If you plan on lighting up Sturgis every night and hitting every road house, get something a lot closer to town. In fact if that is the plan, RV at the Chip is the best bet. Only you can answer those questions. We have done a campground next to Bear Butte, Rapid City, Spearfish and Deadwood. I would say Deadwood house was probably the best of all worlds. Good luck, book early.

Bring plenty of MONEY it ain't cheap! Gas, hotels everything is HIGH PRICED. Also book EARLY everything gets sold out fast. Depending on where you stay hotels can be in the $200 plus a night.
We stayed in Deadwood this year, perfect area. Stayed at Comfort Inn, very good place.
