I've been on vacation and catching up on stuff around the house and property. But, a time frame opened up and I had to pounce on it. I was going to have a Saturday Oct. 16 free, for the first time in a long time.
I quickly decided that a run down to The Dragon and area were in order. The weather was going to be cool and possibly run into some rain depending on when I left the house. By the time I got my morning chores done(Ducks), it was later than I really wanted to start but said f'it.
I geared up and off I went. Stopped to fuel up and was excited for the run. It had been about 13 years since I've been riding in the area. Riding down was pretty uneventful, very windy and cool but not too bad.
Once I got to Maryville, I took 129 and made a pit stop at Deals Gap. Got some stuff for the kids and back on the road.
I then hit The Moonshiner 28/143 to Robbinsville. Where I was going to hit the Cherohala Skyway but decided to just cut it out(I was loosing the sun) and head back through 129 and run The Dragon one last time while heading home.

I made a bee line for home and it got cold. It went pretty uneventful. But, as it's aways the case things happen when your close to home...
I was about 3 miles from home, behind a jeep when all of a sudden they slam on their brakes and swerve to the middle of the road. I immediately go into emergency braking and miss them and see a group of deer. I stopped and the deer went along their merry way. No, damage to the jeep or deer. That got my adrenaline flowing.. Whew
I got home just before midnight and all in told got 657 miles of awesome riding in on a crisp fall day.
