I’ve tried the HD app but find that it kills my phone battery.
Any app that is constantly using gps will drain the battery. I haven’t noticed the HD app being any worse than Google or Apple maps or Waze.
I keep my phone plugged in to charge when using it for gps or recording. I have 2 battery packs in my windshield bag and a charging port in the tour pak. I also have purchased but not installed a charging port for a saddlebag and one for the handlebars.
Ram also makes a wireless charging phone holder that I have thought about getting, but my system has worked for me so far.
