Mark,
Thats not my bike, it was a picture from the IBA forum. I liked the look too so ordered the mounts and lights, waiting for delivery.
Now to decide which can system, I think ezCan makes the CanSmart for Denali and from what I read Bluetooth is coming soon.

I think my thoughts were to try to integrate the on/off from the wiring for the original passing lights. Not be be a jerk, mine is all black, so they'd "blend" a bit more. However after this motorcycle, you can hear me complain about the black powder coat. Chrome might not get you home, but it looks better at 2 years and 30,000 km... [I posted a vent / complaint thread in paint n powdercoat.]

To the OP: @maxxym The point of adding (hijacking your thread) to discuss mods to make your IBA ride better. IMO Lights, seats, handlebars, heated gear(even in summer!). My apologies as what Mark has going is -exactly- what I was looking to do.

I did a SS1000 in 2016 and I've continued on to a total of 7 various ones. IMO - It's building your riding resume, and looking for more of the titled or theme rides. I've yet to complete a BBG1500 for example. My attempt was interrupted by a slow front tire leak at 23:30. I did get a BB1500 [36hr], but the initial goal was gold. My point is that is becomes a passion to achieve more, and really the only ones that appreciate are yourself and others in the LR community.

I like the planning - It helps with the Canadian winter. I use the IBA Ride list, google maps, and build a google ride sheet. Even if I don't execute the ride, it was fun to plan.

Happy Friday
Harry

Not to hijack the OP's thread but I have also thought of a SS 1000. In August went up to Maine from South Jersey, 523 miles on Wednesday and 532 miles home on Sunday. Not bad. Now looking at going from South Jersey to Florence SC, 541 miles per Google maps mostly all on I95. To those that did the SS 1000 is this a feasible plan, just ride South to a city right off I95, take a break and then just reverse my steps.

That'll work... just get your receipts and log all pertinent info.

Just curious...

How many miles did you Iron Butt guys ride between stops?

Or did you base your stops more on hours in the saddle?

I have a small set of older Pia running spots about the size of large goose eggs on the shovel some neighbors a block away swear throws a shadow on their wall through closed curtains. One cannot have too much light on a bike

If I am not too remote, then on a FULL tank and (topped off SHAKEN STYLE....gas bubble out) I will run 170 miles. That will leave me extra fuel if needed. 6 gal tank.

For the SS (1,000), it is not a big deal. There is plenty of time.
