Taking a long weekend starting this Friday it'll go Friday to Tuesday heading up to Tybee Island.
Going to stop in to the 8th Air Force Museum there in Savannah and also stop at the Buc-ee's I guess it's in Daytona or St Augustine. the old lady wants to see what Bucky's is all about will be cutting across the middle of the state going through the Ocala Forest and then up A1A through Flagler so we can ride along the ocean.

Yepper. Saw it on one of her "traveling" U Tube blogs she follows.
Supposed to have a killer brisket sammy.
100 pumps, 67K sqft store and a thousand parking spots.
No semi's allowed.

Not really going out of our way to see it.
Its everything you said except for thousands of people if youre there at wrong time. Really nothing but a new gas station. They sell real gas but its 87 octane.
I hate to be a party pooper, but Tybee is the armpit of GA beaches. Personally, you couldn't pay me to go there (well, you could, but it would take a LOT and I'd still hate Tybee when I left the bank). It's mostly tubby, obnoxious, rude people with no sense of personal hygiene, respect or manners. I don't know about the Buc-ee's you're looking at, but I've been in a Buc'ee's exactly ONCE, in Calhoun, GA and if I lost anything there, they can keep it. You think Wal-mart is bad? Well, compared to my local Wal-mart super store, at least Buc-ee's was a new building, but that's about the only difference. Like Tybee, the people are what make Buc-ee's disgusting; at least the once I went into one.
Can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to this road trip! Here I thought I'd have a relaxing ride through the Ocala forest, hang at Tybee beach, enjoy a brisket sammy on the way with 4 days relaxing!
Cracks me up! lol
So this is my Brother in law and family from Upstate NY renting a airBNB on Tybee. We are of course riding up to meet them... Not my idea but the trike leaves Friday morning. If I had to pick a spot Tybee wouldn't be it.
I've been to Tybee..
I am looking forward to the ONF ride and the 8th Air Force museum.

Now, now B-Fire, you 'juss btr settle back down now.
You do know Sandra Bullock used to live there. And we all know what GREAT taste she has. ummmm, ahhhhh, she did marry that guy that Jessie James which turned out to be a massive failure. Hmmm, and she did that other movie that bombed really badly. Ok, maybe you are right. Shut up. Can't catch me. Peeeeeeooooooowwwww...........
My daughter lives in Richmond Hills ( outside of Savannah ) and loves that beach, probably because she can bring her dog. We tried to go there once and it was a cluster f*** once you got there..
Spent half a day at Tybee, because that's all the time I had when I had meetings in Savannah. Hung out on the pier, they had a bar at the beginning of the pier so I grabbed a fruity mixed drink and watched people fish. Hit a few local souvenir shops which didn't impress me but you have that at any typical tourist beach. Checked out the real estate on the island and holy mess was it every expensive, crossed Tybee off a place to retire at.
Interested to get your thoughts on the island.
