Glad you made it back safely. It takes some getting use to NYS when you've been south and the speed limit is usually 70mph. Of course only NYers are doing 70 LOL. That said when I visit family on Long Island no one is doing the posted 55mph.
That will be a nice trip.Where about in upstate?
I have a question for you worldly travelers. What tail bag would you recommend. My wife did our trip with a duffle bag and bungee cords, not fun. Trying to get some ideas to use for next road trip. Thanks

FWIW, I typically would come down from Canada thru Buffalo. Loop around at least 1 of the lakes, and if I am near it, stop at Sauders in Seneca Falls. Very unusual store. Brought my wife there. Really nice.
Then off up rtes 13 and 28 I think to Lake Placid. It is better to ask the chaps who know the area well.
Sry, thought I could help you some more.......
@CoolBreeze3646 <-- Knows the area well if u would like to ask him questions. He has a summer place (yeah, boat and all....spoiled guy but deserves it) so he could be a gd contact.

Go here - https://rickrak.com/ Get one of their setups. I know they're a little pricey but you won't regret it. I bought a Nelson Rigg NR-300 and put it on one of RickRak's mounting HW for my tour pack rack. See pic below. If you have a luggage rack you can get a complete RickRak setup or do it sort of piece meal like I did. If I was in the market for another one I would get the Roller Bag set up for sure. Call them up, tell them your bike and what luggage rack you have. It is cheaper than going with a Tour Pack if you wanted to go that route for your Road King. Let me know which way you go. Good luck! Somewhere in Nova Scotia along the coast. My bag with a Rickrak mounting setup for my tour pack rack.
