Default Normandy beach landings

I took a small trip to see the Normandy beaches used for the D-Day landings plus a few other places including Mont-Saint-Michel and Falaise.

June 6th will see the 79th anniversary.

Wow, Andy,
I am jealous. What an amazing piece of history. Both my father and later, step father served in WWII. My father fought thru Norther Africa, then up thru Italy and all the way to Germany. My step father in the Pacific, as a SeeBee.
Great pics. It's hard to believe how many soldiers, world wide, were involved in that war. Many to never see home again.

Looking at those bikes makes me think. I call my Ultra my two wheeled truck. Those guys took it a couple levels above anything I have done. Just like the Army, if there is a square inch of space available, use it.

Lots of museums to visit and each tell a huge story of the years leading up to the invasion. What is just as mind boggling as the soldiers going in is the photographers also there to capture the events.

The bikes were at a stop we made at Pegasus bridge. You can read about it here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pegasus_Bridge

Excellent Andy!
Father-n-la was there on the beach. Went back for the 50th with BIL.
Also went to Belgium where he was a POW.

The roads are very good and there is quite a choice of how to get to most places for corner carvers to enjoy.
