Hey everyone. Thought I'd best be an active member and share my ongoing tour with anyone that's interested in reading about it. Anyone in Canada can confirm that our riding season is just way too short. I am in the RV business so summers are my busy time and it's tough to get away on long trips. So, in 2016 I left Calgary, AB, Canada and decided to start a trip around the US travelling in the spring and/or fall for 10 days to 2 weeks at a time. I leave the bike in a location in between and then return back there to continue the trek. I am fortunate to have a bunch of friends/family all over the US so they have been gracious to store it in my abscence. Covid threw a wrench in the travel plans for a while but happily back on the road again. Route has been Calgary, San Francisco, San Diego, Yuma, Phoenix, (detour loop through Colorado, Wyoming, Montana then back to Phoenix), Albuquerque, Terlingua, TX (look it up - a must see!), Austin, and now I'm just outside of New Orleans.
The next stage is from New Orleans to Key West then back up to Miami.
If anyone has questions or comments feel free...
I'll toss in some pictures just as reference to a few places.
Cheers all.
Paul
Paul, last bike week in Daytona, I met 2 dudes from Denmark who do the same thing. They bought bikes in the US and leave them at a Harley Dealer and return every summer to ride different sections of the United States. I guess it’s cheaper that way than renting a bike every year for a couple of months.
I'd love to know how they arrange that. I have tried every Harley dealer in the state I leave the bike at and not once have they been receptive to short term storage. Guess I'm just unlucky... or they like Danes more than Canadians lol
