My wife and I spent 9 days last month riding up to Thousand Islands. It was beautiful, we really enjoyed it. The road surfaces up there can be in pretty bad shape, especially interstates. The secondary roads are in better shape and nicer scenery. When it gets up to 80 degrees the natives start sweating. Two mornings were in the 50's. Trip report:
Look at the map, check out the Applanation Mountain Range from Georgia to Maine, Go and do a zig zag up the range, over one peak then over another, Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont have some great roads. Stay in them hills and out of the city. Rt 2 Massachusetts in Charlamont has a great camp ground right on the river, You are then in some of the best roads North East has to offer.
