Proposed trip 2024
I'd spend the time south of I-70 and loop into Utah a bit as you are able. Monument Valley is def doable. Handheld map can work great in CO as the mountains limit where one can actually ride. Similar in UT. Hit the scenic byways, well worth savoring and an easy plan.
Vegas...is an oven on a bike (have ridden the Valley of Fire). That would be a haul from CO for 3 days in Vegas. Personally I'd make that a sep trip - fly in and fly out for a weekend. (This based on your 2 week timeframe.)
If Vegas is a must (and you only have 2 weeks), I prob would not plan a bike trip to CO...it'd be very rushed as you'd be in Vegas for 3 days, then at least 1 day getting out and 1 day getting home (flights). Throw in weather and crowds/traffic...thats almost a full week.
Either way, smaller trip footprint may be more comfortable. Enjoy.
Your plan to do it all in 2 weeks is like reading War and Peace in 3 hours.
Vegas is too far and still too hot. A day across the Mojave Desert.
Spend your time in the Rockies.
You can spend 3-4 days riding out of Durango including taking the train to Silverton. & Mesa Verde Cliff Dwellings, Monument Valley.
2-3 days out of Ft. Collins.
Adding RMNP, Ouray, Gunnison, Black Canyon, and a few of the high passes.

With any luck I will ship the trike to Denver then work our way to Vegas where we'd fly home.
2 weeks.
Aside from finding a reliable shipper that will do a trike we are looking for any good places to see.
I've attached a map looking for suggestions within this area.
I'm right you're located in FL an wann bring your Trike from FL to CO?
Why paying money for shipping when you can earn money from a guy like me who's riding the Trike from FL to CO?
If you are interested in a deal like that send me an pm or e-mail me.
Have a merry Xmas and a happy new year
Best regards
Sven
So far our top 3 must-do list includes:
- Pikes Peak from Colorado Springs
- Trail Ridge Road US34 through Rocky Mountain National Park
- San Juan Skyway US550 from Durango to Ouray (including the Million Dollar Highway between Silverton & Ouray)
The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
The pins pretty much are the areas we want to see. Figure to spend at least a night at most of them.
I'm 17 years older [she's 53] so I'll be drooling in my bib before she retires, got to get these trips in while I can.
Got notified that she wants to spend 3 nights in Vegas at the end of the trip so that whittles down road time.

I'm a bit older than you and I'm (we're) still planning to do more trips. However, my wife is now having back issues and she's not sure how long she can ride in a vehicle and with little-to-no interest in riding on the back of my Tri-Glide (at least for any amount of time) a "fly for her" destination trip with me taking extra time to get there and back home while riding or towing my trike makes more sense.
On several occasions I have picked her up at an airport which can be a little stressful especially in bad weather or if flights are late or cancelled and one trip her flight got delayed due to bad weather conditions (wind) and I spent several hours in the parking lot "waiting on a woman" .....but I got to meet some interesting people.
One of trip the most interesting events was where she was to fly into a regional airport I got really nervous when they started turning off the terminal lights (near midnight) with her flight being the LAST plane landing that night!
What really works best (for us) is for me to leave a few days early so I can take my time and enjoy the scenery and her flying in on the specified day and taking an airport shuttle to a nearby motel usually before I arrive.
As the saying goes "where there's a will, there's a way".

I'm actually thinking of closing my office and going into semi retirement only taking on jobs I pick.
That will give me time to ride more.
We'll see.
