Many RVers are upset as some campgrounds in the path of the total eclipse have more than tripled rates for the eclipse week. I've hears of some folks with 5-10 acres offering boon-docking for $100 and up.
I am in Montgomery County but will be in Austin for work training on that day so we will see. My understanding is the last one was such a mess in Austin a lot of businesses are going to be taking the day off because when it is over in the afternoon everyone is going to bail.
I am curious to see what will happen in Texas since it is going over many populated areas maybe it won't be so bad? Oh...who am I kidding. These morons dont need a solar eclipse to drive foolish.
I am in Austin, the last eclipse had little to do with the mess. Austin traffic is horrible. We did head down towards San Marcos to watch it but I didn't see much traffic related to just the eclipse. It was just a bad day all around.

I hope that the "save" for me being in Austin is that I will be in North Austin....but I know being up there means nothing. I live in Houston Metro so I am used to stupid, heavy traffic but Austin take it all in that department. The I-35 thru Austin is a total disaster....morons that can't figure out the double deck....again just my opinion.
I grew up in San Antonio and it has always been a mess in Austin.
