If you like twisty roads, I just spent 3 days in NC. Three fun roads I was on were 209 south out of Hot Springs (the Rattler) and a loop that included 215 and 276. I also did Cherohala. I’ve ridden this area often but thought I’d mention these roads for anyone interested in some fun rides. Of course you can’t go wrong with any of the roads in western NC.
Hit the Rattler many times coming down from Maryland. Stayed a few days there in Hot Springs last year as a hub for rides around the area. Nice area, could do it every year.
Not this trip. Not sure if I ever have. Usually I just follow my friends who know the area better than I do and I don’t necessarily know what road I’m on. But looking on the map it looks like Wayah Road will be on my list next time!

I know you guys are going to mock me, but I've ridden motorcycles for 41 years, lived in NC for 37 years and never been anywhere west of Asheville in the state. (we're beach bums) My wife and I are taking 6 days in July, heading from Raleigh to Floyd VA, then Roanoke, back down to Boone, Asheville, over to Knoxville (Maryville) then to Tellico Plains, TN for two nights. Heading home through Franklin NC and Maggie Valley. Can't wait.
