Question for you California folks. Going to Yosemite on the TriGlide in September. Just ordered an aftermarket air cleaner (DK 606) and Tab slip-ons. Do I wait to put them on the trike until after the California trip due to California compliance or can I go ahead and put them on now? May be a dumb question but I don't want to run into problems with the authorities...... I'm an old guy so won't be blipping the throttle to hear myself.....
Don't live in Kalifornia anymore but do ride in San Bernardiono County quite a bit, I've never had any problems with the CHP or County Sheriffs deputy's, But then that part of the state is pretty much Republican and wants to join Arizona LOL
My (our) trike is pretty much maxed out Stage Two with Tab Medium baffles, when in populated areas just be smart with the throttle. I'd put them on and enjoy the sound
I don't live in California anymore, but I do go back quite often to visit family and friends. None of my bikes are quiet and I have never had a problem with the authorities. Now if you are a Throttle Jockey and are always on the throttle blasting through town zipping in and out of traffic, yer gonna get pulled over and cited. But they are gonna write you up for speeding or reckless driving so that you can make a major contribution to the California Slush Fund. The modifications to you bike that you mentioned are a non issue.
From someone that has put 1,000s of miles on motorcycles in Kalifornistan…never had an issue. Don’t be an ******* in front of a cop and you’ll be ok. There are no inspections or compliance checking in our great state.
