Question for you California folks. Going to Yosemite on the TriGlide in September. Just ordered an aftermarket air cleaner (DK 606) and Tab slip-ons. Do I wait to put them on the trike until after the California trip due to California compliance or can I go ahead and put them on now? May be a dumb question but I don't want to run into problems with the authorities...... I'm an old guy so won't be blipping the throttle to hear myself.....
Thanks for you advice in advance.
There IS no inspection in California (yet.)
Having pipes is no big deal, as long as you're not an ahole and making as much noise as possible. I know it might be fun to make enough noise to bounce the noise off the granite walls, but everyone else may want to kill you. (NOT just the bears, LOL)
I'd leave the bike stock, as the add'l noise is only going to fatigue you quicker, and it's not going to make ur trike any faster.
California is good at making crap load of regulations but implementing cost money which it doesn't have. Mostly out of state vehicles doesn't have to comply with other states regulations such as some states don't require front lic plate or nothing against tinted windows or no plates for a trailer like here in Oklahoma. I've driven to CA many times got speeding ticket once leo didn't have any issue with the tinted windows or no front lic plate but a local vehicle he probably would have cited for it.
