I've been to Daytona Beach many times, never during a motorcycle event. My confirmed bachelor party buddy and I made a pinky promise to ride our old Road Kings to Daytona Bike Week in March 2026. Why? No idea. My wife said "I'm really worried about you and name retracted going to Daytona" I said "me too". Thanks for the ride along, I'm taking notes. We already booked the Streamline Hotel for Tues-Sun.

Rob, I've been to spring bike week 25 years in a row and probably close to 35 times in total since the late 70's. Your hotel is between speedway blvd (92) and main street. I promise you, there will be a motorcycle rolling thunder racket coming at your hotel from mid morning to dawn every single day. If thats youre looking for, you are going to get it lol. By far my favorite places to stay are in the Flagler beach/palm coast area. Lots of cool local hangouts and cheaper than Daytona/Ormond Beach for hotels. If you have any questions about bike week, lmk.

Regardless, looks like a good time.
Thanks again.

Been to both. For riding, S Dakota wins hands down. For sun, beach, seafood, no place like Daytona.

I’ve stayed out the Delta Hotel south of Main Street a few times now - nice compromise between close enough and far away enough.

Haha thanks. This trip with my buddy is going to be a party trip. I'm going to get up somewhat early and ride out to whatever events the day has. My buddy sometimes doesn't get up until 1:00pm. I'll share my location and he can some find me if he wants. Knowing him (and me when I'm around him) we will likely end up on Main St for too long each evening anyway, so I figured best to be able to walk back to hotel. My wife retires in June 2026 so next time I'll bring her and it will be a more "cultural" trip. Then we'll stay at a quieter location. I'll be retired end of March 2026, but have 4 weeks of vacation to use Jan-March. That's why I'm able to go in 2026.

Here's my to do list so far:
Bagger races at Speedway
Old bike races at New Smyrna
Willie's chopper show
Cabbage Patch
Iron Horse
Ormond Loop
Main St bars (obviously)
Don't really care about test rides or dealership stuff
Other cool bars and good places to eat? Especially seafood w/water view.

I've been to Daytona 4 times for Spring Break in my younger days. Still have the police record to prove it. More recently for family trips, and spent a couple weekends there when I was sent down to Florida for work. Looking forward to a bike event, but plan to avoid the jail time at all costs. I'll be wearing my walking shoes to Main St.

The races at the speedway are always cool. Supercross is my favorite. I wouldn't discount Destination Daytona. There will be over a hundred vendors selling Harley stuff, you can see all the options for your Harley in one place than you would see in 10 years anywhere else. The vendors at the speedway are also numerous and Harley always has a grand tent set up at the speedway. I'm not really into all the bars on US1(too many knuckleheads and just as many cops) and haven't been to the Cabbage Patch in over 20 years. The Boot hill Saloon on Main Street has been a regular hangout for me forever. Usually we go to Main Street end of our day and chill out there to close out the day.
Places to eat seafood that we go to:
JB Fishcamp in New Smyrna Beach, Off the hook restaurant in Ponce Inlet, Funky Pelican in Flagler Beach, Oceanside Deck in Flagler beach, the Golden Lion. If you like wings, the Wing house is a must. There is one near your hotel on A1A.
For motorcycle history, visit the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse. There is a museum on the grounds that shows videos of when bikes used to raced on the sand.
Joe and I will be there Thursday thru Sunday, maybe well run into you during bike week.
