Planning a trip that will take me across Oregon. Looks like I can't pump my own gas, don't care for that.
That changed, but I wanted a reference, so... From Claude:
Oregon was one of only two states where drivers weren't allowed to pump their own gas for decades, but that changed in 2023 when the Legislature passed new laws allowing self-serve fueling. [Oregon](https://www.oregon.gov/osfm/pages/se...e-fueling.aspx)
Here's how it works now:
In 20 rural counties, you can pump your own gas at any station, any time of day. In 16 other (more urban) counties, stations may offer self-serve at up to half their pumps but the other half must still have attendants. [Oregon](https://www.oregon.gov/osfm/pages/se...e-fueling.aspx)
In Oregon, I’ve never met a fuel attendant that wanted to fill my bike. They have always handed it to me. Also, there are pump your own stations now. Big issue now, is availability and cost.
We rode across Oregon a couple of years ago. I don't remember having any issues with gas. We like riding crooked roads. We got tired of riding crooked roads. It was a blast and beautiful country. I would come out of a curve and try to rest my hands before the next curve. It was all day.
