Lets see if i can figure out how to put some of my trip photos on here.
is there some way to do this like copy & paste. I'm trying to copy & paste but nothing happens. The only way I seem to be able to post photos is as attachments.
Too bad I just now saw this post... a small group of us are considering Big Bend sometime in the fall out of San Antonio. Bandera, is a very popular destination/stop for bikers and cowboys alike. That place is alot of fun and very biker friendly. Had I seen this I would given you a route to ride ride the 3 Sisters (3 Twisted Sisters, 100 Mile Loop) It is some of the best riding you can find in Texas. If you ever find yourself back out this way dont pass up the following:
From Bandera take 16 to Vanderpool (4 N of Vanderpool is a MC Museum, bout a mile further N of that is Lost Maples Park, further up from that is Tx Stone Henge)
From Vanderpool take 337 W to Leakey (hairpin turns). Once your in Leakey you can stop in at the Pig Pit or the Bent Rim Saloon for refreshments before you head N on 83, just out side of Leakey, maybe a mile you'd vear L onto FM 336, follow that to Hwy 41 and take that west to FM 337S, it t-bones into 55 which would have taken you to Uvalde. Those 3 rodes are what make up the 3 sisters, you'll have to find time to make that roadie some day. http://www.hillcountrycruising.com/the3s.html
The best time for Big Bend is fall and on... pretty hot right now.
We will be back there in November... let us know if you visit, I will take you places no one sees!!! My own road is good also, have had Harleys on before from Friends... big fire circle with 3 fire pits (1 fire / 1 grilling / one dutch oven). I think I will have anothe one to hang. If you never had some grilling with pecan wood... you are in for a surprise! Forget Mesquite...
Anyhow... Have a great one...
