Bad, From key west letting you know the wind has picked up and its about 70 today but chilly. Not the good keys riding. but still expected to get better. Ride safe and well probably see you riding around the keys.

When I worried about time I would take I-95 and get off on the Sample road exit north of Miami and hit the turnpike there. Now I don't even get on the EXway, I take SR-27 all the way to 997 to homestead. Takes longer but feels better.
Bad, I sure hope you get farther south today. We have been near 80 the past few days but this morning we hit 35. Tonight will be colder yet.
If you decide to come over in my direction, give me a call. I'm buying.
Enjoy your trip and ride safe. Keep us posted.

Thanks again. Hope this finds you and yours doing well.

davis,
I'll be riding a 2 tone beige and burgandy Ultra with matching ULE side car. Should be in the area next Monday evening thru thursday. I imagine with any luck the weather could be more cooperative. Will be spending evenings at Sloppy Joe's.
If you see this pair run the other way for your life.
Bad, nice to hear your travels are going so well, did i understand you made it to NC the first day from NH?
Where in NH are you from, we are in North Sandwich.
I am leaving the 26th of this month for Key West, basically rts 84/81/BRP,77/95. I hope anyway.
Let me know how you ultamatly get to the Keys, Fl Turnpike or 95. I'm a bit scidish from Ft Lauderdale to Key Largo. Anyway, have a Hell of a time. Where are you staying in Key West?
Damn, i could go on and on......
Ride safe man!!!!!

Is that SR 27 same as or run parallel to 80 west? Sounds kind of like my game plan. I was definately ending up on the 997 to homestead. No desire to see, ride thru or stop in or near miami,Ft Ldale etc...

No not quite. Made it 70 miles north of Richmond. It took two days to get to NC.
With regards to Ft Lauderdale,Miami and all that, if when you are south of Riveriera beach by about 10 miles there is a rt 80 west that connects to a rt 27 south which skirts that mass of humanity and 27 south connects to 997 south which runs to homestead and the s dixies hwy and then onto the keys. Never been on it will let you know how that works out.
Your route via 84-81-BRP etc.. looks smart and I will do that next time. Definately more scenic and less congested. We got through NY City faster then I thought we would but it all went to shiet in DC.
We booked the Days Inn on Roosevelt, only 110$ or so a night. Every where else seemed like near and over 200+$ a night.

The prices of most rooms goes down in May. I've stayed here: http://www.duvalgardens.com/ It's at Duvall and Truman.
A couple good things: They have parking and it's walking distance to all the hot spots. I found it a real hassle parking the HD in Key West, so I walked as much as I could. Hopefully you brought comfy shoes.
If you get tired of bar food, go here: http://www.aandblobsterhouse.com/ It is pricey, but I've eaten there twice and both times have not been disappointed.
