Cool Santa fe or taos help
I will be riding in the area and I know nothing about the area as far as riding goes. Are there any must see's or must stay away places in this part of the country? Where would be a good place to stop for a day or so?

Make sure you check out Angel Fire and Cloudcroft. The jewlery bazaar downtown Santa Fe is cool if you want some nice Indian jewlery and some great art studios.

High road out of Santa Fe to Taos. Sun God in Taos is a good place to sleep. Do the Enchanted Circle and the Rio Grande River Gorge.

Madrid NM is where Wild Hogs was filmed, if you like the flick it's of some interest. Not a lot there but is a nice ride. In August drink plenty of water and carry extra with you, don't want to get broke down without water.

We stopped at Teseque?..Market and had an outdoor breakfast. Just north of Sante Fe.
Great food and people. Also Embudo Station between Sante Fe and Taos is really cool. Rio Gorge west of Taos is a awesome site.

In the Southwest Threads there is the road plan for the 4th Green Chili Run adn I believe they are starting out of Taos. You might check out their roadplan and see if any of it fits along your ride. They planned a canyon and gorge run I believe in July sometime.

Hi......I don't understand the question. They are close enough to do both! Enjoy the Northern part of the state and check out the gorge around Questa and then head over to the Red River/Eagles Nest .

Do not take the hwy from clines corner to santa fe, was just there and it turns into a horrible gravel rut nightmare for several miles. Don't know when it will be fixed.
