I would not believe it
I moved here to sunny Puerto Rico a couple months ago. What I have found out so far, The riding here is challenging at best. The roads are always rough, but the scenery is awsom! If you are looking for a tropical island to go riding in, this place is great. On the bad side, the local riders will polish their bikes and ride down the street to the local watering hole, set all day and ride back home. A few of them found out I rode 200 miles in a day and they were awstruck. They could not believe a person could ride a bike that far in a day and live! WFT? Anyhow, The mountain roads are not crowded any time and the beach roads are on the weekend. Other than that, DON"T even think about shipping a bike over here. You can rent one for a month with what it would cost to ship and taxes. But if you are looking for a tropical Island to ride, let me know and I'll join you.

I'm semi retired. I took a 2 year contract as a maintance training manager for a company. The cost of living is relative to where you live in the states. Myself from rural Indiana, it's high as H... But if you lived in Cala. it may be the same. A house in a gated community in the area of Dorado, which is the area where Ricky Martin lives, Not the same neighborhood though, is about $900-$1100 a month rent. In the poor side of town, a house for about $450 or so. A lot of poverty here though. The price of a gallon of milk---$6- $6.50 Chicken and pork are reasonable, beef is high. Any brand that is imported is high. Over all, about 50% more than what is would cost me at home for the most part. Over all, I love it. Maybe it's because of the scenery, and I'm not talking landscape.

Sounds like a lame excuse, but I don't have a camera. But, Every day I ask myself, there has got to be something in the water here, they grow so big!!!!!! and It's like a bunch of buck deer. they are all out to show their RACK off. MY O MY I still only use one eye at a time. Don't want to go blind! Nuff said.
