Grand tetons or beartooth hwy
Beartooth is beautiful, Red Lodge and Cooke City are cool.
The best times are:
--April, when they open the roads to bicycle traffic for two weeks before letting in motorized traffic. You'll be riding right alongside bison herds, who actually prefer to walk on the roads in the mud season. Best time to see wolves up on Druid Peak and in the Lamar Valley.
--September and October, when the tourists are all but gone, and autumn hits the Park. Best time to see otters in the Hayden Valley.
--September for sea kayaking on Yellowstone Lake.....wow! (dress warmly)
--winter, when you can snowshoe/ski to the Boiling River and pop in for a soak while watching elk and bison wander around
--anytime, for fishing.....if you're willing to hike a few miles in from any trailhead (tourists don't hike too far, usually)
If you're looking for a great rideing experience and want to feel like you are on top of the world. Chief Joseph and Beartooth is the best choice by far!
