You may want to check out the corvette museum in bowling green, ky.

Tons of good eating in nashville, tn or you can go about 40 miles south to stan's at the hwy 99 exit or sarge's shack at exit 14 hwy 64.

If you want to travel about 40 miles off i-65 check out jack daniel's distillery in lynchburg, tn and/or george dickel in the tullahoma, tn area.

After crossing the tn/al line about 30 miles take i-565 exit 340-a into huntsville and visit the space & rocket center nasa's early space center.

In birmingham, al area you may want to check out the barber motorsports facility they have a great motorcycle museum.

There is major radar enforcement from Louisville to about 30 miles south of there. Also rough pavement to about Elizabethtown. Mammoth Cave is pretty interesting, just follow the signs. Are ya ridin alone?

the road king is a great bike, you'll have fun with it. by the time you get back you might be looking to change saddles, but you'll see how the ride is when you go. have a great trip.

Ahhh.... Road King - what a great bike!

Definitely make some time in Birmingham to visit the Barber Motorsports Museum - you can easily spend a day in that wonderful museum!

Some foam rubber ear plugs will go a LONG way toward lessening the fatigue on the interstate. You'll be amazed at how well they work.

Sometimes it's better that way. I have fun with other people around but it's nice to get out and do just what you want once in a while.

Man I envy you! I did solo 2-3K mile trips for 8 years straight. Some of the best memories of my life. All good advice above. Take pictures! You'll be surprised at how many details you forget in just one year. Let alone several.
Don't be afraid of the road less traveled either. If it feels right - take it!
