Taking a trip in a few weeks from NE Ohio to Mt. Washington in New Hampshire. We plan to ride across southern tier of NY, through VT to NH and into western Maine. Planning 2 days up, 1 full day there, and 2 days back.
Besides riding up the Mt. Washington Auto Road, any other suggestions of places to ride or things to see in the area ?

NH9 is a nice road but on weekends it has a substantial amount of traffic due to the numerous antique shops on the road. (it is known as antique alley) Traffic approaching the Epson Circle from either direction is tough. Weekday traffic isn't bad but the weekend traffic can be heavy.
Be sure to bring a bathing suit as there are a couple really pretty lakes/ponds....and be prepared for your wienie to shrivel right into your shoulder blades as water is too cold to freeze solid
If you come across Southern VT then come through Bennington,VT and take Rt.9 East
to Brattleboro,VT. Just before Brattleboro look for HOGBACK MTN. it is on Rt.9 !
Stay on R.9 West into Keene,NH then take Rt.9 North(East) to Rt.89 and this will bring you
to Concord,NH and Rt.93 North. Personally I think the "Kanc" is way over rated !
Stay on Rt.93 North through Franconia Notch then take Rt.3 North to Twin Mtn.
Then take Rt.302 East over to Rt.16 North which is the road where the Auto Road
up Mt. Washington is.
