Theres a story to go along with these pics, I told it in Off Topic in the thread about Kickin me Off here for 48 hours. I can't write it again but here are some pics. There is one Pic I didn't get but wish like Heck I had of.
The first pic is of a Dude taking a nap at an overlook. If he rolls to his left its a Looooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnngggggggggg way down.
This is the kind of Sign I love to see when I get to a new Road I haven't riden before. This is at the beginning of Hwy 80 leading to the Blue Ridge Parkway near Marion, NC. It is 12 miles from the sign to the Parkway.
A couple of guys from up around Maryland or North of there, that WE know from another Forum think this road is better than the Dragon. They rode both in April.

They should have that sign at the Gap........Dragon

The Dragon is what it is. A technically challenging stretch of road. Done it twice. Don't care if I ever do it again. BUT....I'd go back to the area in a heartbeat.
The Parkway is truly a nice ride on a motorcycle. Living so close to its northern end, friends and I find that we spend a lot of time on it. I believe that you could sit stationary at any of the overlooks on a nice weekend and would almost never be out of hearing of the whine, growl, or rumble of various motorcycle engines!\
