Smile Support BACA and have fun too idea

Take a look in Southwest section for the BACA fundraiser on 9/19 in Hempstead TX. There are actually some curves in the road in that area...wee ones but better than interstate. BACA is the best cause you can imagine so have some fun and lend some support at the same time.

Are you a member of BACA? A link might be helpful if that does not violate their rules.

On another note, a review of their web site suggests to me that the organization is not very active. Is the organization fairly new???

Smile

I have had my criminal backround checked at my expense. I am on a one year probationary period awaiting full membership. I can take part in actions but have no recognition as a trusted member until taking part in 80% of the official functions for a year and been approved by a board interview and discussion. Our chapter has about 60 full members, supported by very active families and wives. there are about 31 chapters in the US but I suspect it will slowly grow. It is a low profile...take care of business group.

If you looked at the national website you already have a link but here it is for cut and paste. http://www.bacausa.com

If you watch the video and scroll down and read you will have a very good idea what it is all about. The men and women I have met in our chapter are worthy of respect indeed.

There are so many children in abusive homes...unfortunately many quietly unknown, that it is not possible to help them all....but BACA makes a difference to the ones they reach. They are VERY active...some members who are able are essentially full time...just publicly low key. Children are referred. Organization is well regarded by District Attorneys, various support groups such as CPS and law enforcement officers. Apparently not so well thought of by abusive parents/guardians.

Consider for a moment you happen to be Billy Badass who regularly beats up on his 8 year old and that 8 year old is taken in publicly as a friend to 60 bikers and then they ride up in mass and tell you that it stops now....would you consider that as advice worth considering? Later after more intervention/protection the 8 year old may have to appear in court to testify....having lived in fear they can now look at a bunch of their BACA "friends" in the courtroom and know they are safe. Billy, you should have taken the advice above because prison is not a nice place for child abusers/molesters....

Nope not new, getting bigger, active. I hope they find me worthy one day

So go to Hempstead...have some fun, meet some of these people....then go home and hug your children.

John....to BACA I am "Stump"

Thanks for replying...I looked for "Hempstead" and "the Southwest section" but found neither. Maybe the information is there but just buried too deep for my limited computer skills to find.

While the goal of BACA is certainly admirable, I'm not sure about their methods. I attended a presentation made by a BACA member a few months ago. Sadly, the message was..."let's use the badass biker image so we can intimidate an entire neighborhood." We had about 200 riders in attendance and the meeting did not go well. To the best of my knowledge, no one signed up.

I'm not trying to flame you, other members, or the organization as a whole...just sharing how the meeting came across to me and several others.

Good luck and I hope it works out well for everyone!

The Southwest section is down the home page of the forum...under regional events section. There is a region for Atlanta etc. Too bad your experience with BACA spokesperson was negative...it was misrepresented....go back and look at the national website in link above.

My apologies to everyone for taking up room on Road Trip section. John
