Great ride.
The Blue Ridge Parkway from Cherokee, NC to the Virgina start line. Great hotel in Little Switzerland, NC directly on the Parkway is called Switzerland Inn. The Diamond Back lodge only costs $68 per night. The main lodge is around $110-$130. Has a large restaurant and a separate great bar. The Parkway reaches over 6,000 feet high and has great sweeping/twisting road, many tunnels and beautiful views. I've ridden it only 3 times and am ready to go again.

Me and the wife are heading out on sunday for our first time on the Blue Ridge. Leaving Kentucky headed for Waynesboro to stay the night and then turn south for North carolina. May give the Switzerland Inn a try.

Swizterland Inn
Wish I was riding with you. My wife is from Louisville and we visit twice a year. I'm a native Atlantan. Anyway, here's the web site for the Switzerland Inn: switzerlandinn.com. It has large grounds with 1 big hotel and then several smaller detached hotels. Some have awsome views from the front decks. Those cost a little more @around $140 night. Diamond Back lodge is reserved for bikers, but it fills up fast because it only has 8 rooms. Price is $68 or $65 per day. Very rustic. Fireplace in the foyer, couchs, chairs and television. NO PHONE service in room. Make sure your cell is charged. Don't let this be your turnaround point back though. Continue south on the BRP to Cherokee. If you leave at 9 AM you will have problem rolling into Cherokee around 4PM. This part of the BRP has the higest parts with the most long sweeping twistys. Takes me 2 1/2 hours to get to Cherokee from Suwanee, GA., but it is worth every boring mile cruising on hwy 441 to get to the Parkway.
