I live in central Florida, so I go to Bike Week and Biketoberfest every year. Thinking about riding up to Thunder Beach for the spring rally. Anybody been to this one - and is it worth checking out?
Went last year for the first time and loved it. It is still in its growing stage and relatively small compared to Bike Week in Daytona but, it is growing rapidly. Check it out, it is worth your time.
Rally looks good, and I think the ride from central Florida to the panhandle will be nice. I think I'm going to try it. If anybody has ideas on places to stay, let me know.
I have been the last 7 or 8 years in a row, in the spring. I do not enjoy it at all. I am going back this spring to give it one last chance.
What kinda price range are you looking to pay for a room? How many going with ya? I might be able to give you a name or two of some places if you like. Do you wanna be right in the middle of the action or on the quiet side of the beach?
We have a group going down and rented some condos at the Whispering Seas. I have stayed there a couple of times. It is an older 3 story (no elevator) condo and all condos face the beach. The condos I have stayed in heave been nice. It is close to everything, but a little off the main beat. http://www.whisperingseas.com/
I plan on going this year. It will be my first bike rally. I am finishing my bike soon and hope to make the ride from SC. Thought about myrtle beach but from what Ive read on the forum it sounds like they are trying to push us out. Anyway, cant wait for the road trip.
