This summer my brother, his wife and I will be heading out from NC to visit our other brother in Houston. Looking at GPS the route it gives takes us on 85 through SC, GA, to 65, to 10 AL/MS, to 12 LA then into 10 again taking us into Houston.
We haven't established a date for when this is going to happen and wanted to know, from those of you along this route, if there is a time we should avoid due to rainy season, etc.
Also any interesting detours, along the way, that will get us off the highway for awhile and offer local cuisine and sightseeing.
