As HarleyCop mentioned, Ponce Inlet Lighthouse. It is more of the beautiful "old Florida." Go S. on Atlantic Ave to get there. Their website appears to be down, but here is the clip from Frommer's http://www.frommers.com/destinations...ch/A24939.html
Once in the area, I would recommend...Deck down under - hidden restaurant off the path in the middle of the water (under the bridge that crosses the intercoastal)- great raw oysters, etc, if you are into that. They also have cooked seafood...lol.http://www.yelp.com/biz/our-deck-down-under-port-orange.
you might want to try JT's Seafood Shack between At. A and Daytona. It' really a locals place, on A1A in Palm Coast, about 15 miles south of St. A (on your right, or on your left coming up from Daytona). They have awesome ribs and fried fish and a wonderful seafood boil (shrimp, clams, potatoes, corn on the cob and crab in a spicy boil pot). In Another 10-15 minutes south of Palm Coast in Ormond Beach (near the loop) is Manny's on A1A. It's a local pizza, burger, sandwich joint. Sometimes it is too hot to eat outside, but on a cooler morning, I love to sit outside (it's across from the beach) and eat the excellent breakfast sandwiches (even for lunch) on texas toast and take in the salt air, surf, bikes going by, etc. The Flagler pier is a good landmark, Manny's is less than 5 minutes south of there.
