Laconia NH 2010
So me and my 2 other buddies are planning on hitting up Laconia NH this year from probably Thursday - Sunday (the last weekend). This is our first motorcycle trip period and our first time to Laconia. I just wanted to get everyones opinion on what is the best hotel to stay at and anything else we should know while driving up. We are all from CT and plan on packing a big book bag and riding up on the bikes. Also what are the must-do's or must-sees while we are there... for example what motorcycle rides should we definitely part take, bike shows, bars, and ect. Any info on anything with Laconia would be appreciated!
Thanks Everyone!

Laconia is good times for sure, but be prepared for rain. And, if you plan on staying in a hotel, better book now, and expect the rates to be a little higher that week.
Good group rides are "Ride to the Sky" a day or two of motorcycle only traffic on the Mt Washington Auto Road: link, http://www.mountwashingtonautoroad.com/page-225.html
There is usually a free group tour of the backroads up to and across the Kancamagus & back. The tour leaves from event HQ, just up from the Weirs Beach sign. I believe they cut accross Bear Notch Road, and come down through N. Conway, Conway, then back on the Kanc westbound for the return again.
For a full list of events, check out the Laconia Bike Week website, and build your own event schedule. Link: http://www.laconiamcweek.com/Schedule The hill climb events are always a great day.
The epicenter is of course, Weirs Beach, see photo above. If you want to get in on this free parking arrive at Weirs early, maybe 8am at the latest. This strip fill up fast, then your only option is the pay lots at 5$ per bike. Weirs will be full of cool bikes, vendors, food stands, tattoos, liberated women, etc.
Good times for sure!

Kancamacus (SP?) is also a nice ride with some great views of the Presidential Mountain Range. 93N to Lincoln NH and then pick up the Kanc.
