But hay ,your ride and time management . I know how that can push a trip. Seems i never get to see all i plan when going some where to ride a weekend away.
You're right, my bad, I just didn't read it right.

Now I have another question, as you said above, I can run south from Red Hill on Double Island Road and get on 80 at Micaville. My question is, if I do that I will miss the part of 80 between Red Hill and Micaville, so should I do that part of 80 or Double Island Road? Which is better? Are those roads about the same?

ozoneman Buy , thats about a toss up on those to roads. Double island is shorter and maybe a bit curvy and the upper part of 80 is a nice flowing road that will take and extra 15 minutes to ride. Both nice rides. When you gona be in the area.

Coming from Station's Inn rode around and took 197..... been there done that..back in Oct 09 when the "floods / pouring rain"
came over thinking it was a good shortcut until I crested the mountain and it turned to dirt...going down wasn't to bad.....but really wet
Blasted down 26 to Hendersonville then over to 64 on way home.

It didn't matter if I had a 1000 dollar rainsuit...

Rt 80 is now on my hit list,,thx

We are staying in Maggie Valley from June 12 to June 19. It will depend on the weather conditions as to when we plan to do which ride. I have 6 rides planned for the 6 full days that we will be there.

Default What a difference a week makes!

A week ago it was snowing as hard as I've ever seen it snow. This morning, after 5 days of warmth, the snow has melted enough in front of the shop to actually get the Train outside. I renewed the tag yesterday. Hardluk, it won't be long now. The picture on my avatar was taken last year down the river at Poplar. I will probably ride over to Erwin soon, and come over Unaka Mtn. to Poplar, and ride up the RR for my first ride this year. We need some rain to wash off the road salt, and after that we're good to go. I can't wait.
Later,
MM

katobird Ha , 197 from yancey side one really fine road forsure, till it just stops and turns to dirt. Hell of a way to find out. Bet you found dried mud in that bike for months after that.
Ozoneman, You are gona have a busy week down here. See if Wheels Through time is going to be open while down . Got to see that. Good way to spend some rainly time.
madmax54 So far today not enough rain to wash any thing clean, hope it pours later. Snow mostly gone here too. just need some rain, so with a week worth showing on the weather channel maybe we will get enough to clean up. Been so long sents a good ride i will feel like a newbe i'm afaid. Thats a good ride across Poplar too. Get on the roads up here ,ride all day and find you only covered 150miles.
