First Long Roadtrip
have one. Harley makes GOOD rainsuits for $100. They don't
rip in the wind, has heat protection inside the legs, makes
a good windbreaker in the cold, looks nice just to stroll in
the rain if you're out walking. Get them big enough to easily
go over coats and pants. Be careful with cheaper brands,
that will not hold up to wind and heat. You'll just have to
buy another set. Mine, and my wifes set is 5 yrs. old, has
had alot of use, on and off many times during many miles,
still in great shape. Spend a little more and get good ventilation,
but I went cheap and stay dry, gets hot it comes off. Try on
the suits, walk around, sit and move around. I used to ride
with a couple that would not buy suits, they were the first ones
to cry about getting wet
started to sprinkle. Rainsuits do suck, but getting soaked sucks
more.

As for rain suits: I've got frog togs (for me) and the low end Harley suit (for my daughter). The Harley suit looks better, packs (much) smaller, and has the heat protection on the legs. My togs haven't melted on the exhaust pipe yet, but from all I read it's only a matter of time (wearing the gaiters might help with that, since they do have heat protection). When that does happen, I'll be replacing it with the HD suit.

My HD rain suit is the grey one. I know they make a couple of different ones that come in different "weights".

If you'll be travelling in higher elevations, don't forget your leather.
When my wife & I rode to Sturgis from Central Florida, we did laundry twice. Once while at the rally, and once on the way home. We shipped a lot of stuff home we bought at the rally before we started to head back East.
