Cool Heading to Moab....any advice?

My wife wanted to take the motorcycle down to Moab before I get shipped off to Korea, so we are taking a trip their over the 4th of July weekend. I wanted to see if anyone out there had any recommendations or advice. We are staying at Up the Creek campgound. It looks like their should be plenty of shade there, so we won't die of heat exhaustion. Thanks in advance for any information.

Just got back last Sunday from a trip from KC to Grand Canyon. Spent the night in Moab. If you're coming from the east, take the highway from Cisco, UT to Moab. Cisco is an old ghost town, just offof I-70, about 20 miles across the Colorado/Utah border. Great ride that parallels the Colorado river through the canyon. While in Moab, a ride through Arches National Park, Canyon Lands National Park and Dead Horse Point State Park are also awesome.

see about renting a jeep and going off road.. they have maps and suggested rides for novice or experienced drivers.. also for your bike check mapquest and look at some small roads that go behind Moab, take the ride along the Colorado river and some of the side roads that branch off.. good riding and great scenery

Default Thanks

Thank you two for your input. I'll try and add some pictures after I get back from Moab. Lookin' forward to the trip, but it is going to be hotter than a ***** in church.
Also, Lickmeister, great book on your icon. I read it twice and I'm still trying to figure out some parts.

If you're into Mountain Biking, Moab has some of the premier bike trails in the U.S. Very beautiful area. You'll find a lot to do

If you can time it Monumnent Valley at sunrise is just awe inspiring. Stay hydrated while you're driving as it will be hot but as you've read above there is some gorgeous riding down there. Enjoy Korea ... I was at Osan AB (USAF) from 1986 - 1988 but it has changed a lot.
