Cedar Breaks is a miniature Bryce Canyon, doesn't take long to visit and Hwy 14 has a great vista point that looks back at Zions. You can take SR 148 to SR 143 and than loop back through Panguich and on to Bryce, it is all paved and a great ride. Happy Trails
Cedar Breaks was the first of our National Parks, it was a great start to our Utah tour. We parked our p/u truck in a storage unit in Cedar City so when we returned in late Oct: it was a cold run at that altitude!
We also recommend the annual pass. We are hoping to get there again this fall, before it expires, the pure visual overload is too much to take in!
And as for Moki Dugout: recommend you do it going down because then you are on the INSIDE next to the mountain, instead of on the outside edge, the cusp of DOWN!!!!!! My hubby loved the run, I was just the passenger and found it nerve wrecking.
definetely try to fit in a ride from Flagstaff to Sedona to Jerome...on hwy 89A..beautiful stretch of road..Flagstaff to Sedona is about 30 miles and then Sedona to Jerome is about 40...very nice stretch and isnt to far south into AZ..
While in Moab consider a white water ride on the green river, class 4 & 5 rapids, a blast. Do the big one you'll have no regrets. also would suggest the slick rock trail in a jeep or the rock crawlers, great times in Moab UT.
Well, we're back from Utah! What a great week! Perfect weather (never saw a cloud the entire week) and we got to see all that we planned. Temps were from high 80s to low 90s (but very low humidity) and the temps in the morning only got down to about low 50s. The rest of the crew said the trip was well above their expectations. Everyone needs to do this ride! What I enjoyed the most was riding through all those canyons. Every turn was another amazing rock formation or canyon wall. Some of the canyons seemed to go on forever!
