Ive never heard of the Twisted/three sisters ride, but it only looks like a couple or hours at the most away. Jasper TX is about 45 min. and its not more than an hour away. Thanks for the heads up.

Surprised you haven't heard of the Three Sisters, pretty well known ride and mentioned on the forums quite a bit. Yet, that explains why you are off on the time estimate. Depending on which way you go and where you are starting from in Houston, it's about 300 miles to Leakey to start the Three Sisters loop. The loop, RR 335, 336, 337, is about 100 miles.
So it would be approx 700 miles. With the shorter days now it'd be tough to do in a day while still enjoying the ride.
Thanks for the heads up, I wasn't sure were it was and thought it might be near Livingston, Texas because thats were cardboard is from and he posted the videos. Livingston, Texas is a couple hours from me. I know see that the three sisters is past San Antonio Tx near Kerrville Tx which is a 7 1/2 hr ride and 440 miles just to Kerrville one way. I have in-laws staying in New Braunfels Tx that were going to stay with in Feb to visit for a week. I'll have to try to get over there then.

Sorry about the thread hijack
No problem at all. Yeah make sure you get over there, definitley worth the trip although might be a bit cool in Feb. Many great roads in the area, you can't go wrong. You could take 16 from Bandera up to Kerrville, super road itself w/hills and twistys. You could then take 27 out of Kerrville a short distance to Ingram where you'd pick up 39. Take that through Hunt then take RR 187 down to Vanderpool where you'd pick up RR 337w. Take that into Leakey to start the Three Sisters. Just talking about it makes me want to head over this weekend.
btw, I lived in DeRidder when stationed at Polk waaayy back in the day!
Hey fellow riders, we were there a couple weeks ago. Stayed at the Frio Canyou Lodge in Leakey. Great little place to stay. Mornings are cool. Definetly need the leathers in the morning. On the safety note, be sure to park the rides at dusk dark. Don't ride at night. Our 4 legged friends come out in groves. Deer are every where. This is the norm for hill country riding.
