500 mile one day trip
Have planned a 1 day 500 mile round trip for the 23rd December. The group I normally ride with on Saturdays are all coming along 8 of us. should be a good ride. will take about 11 hours including fuel and meal stops.

One of the TV channels here in Saudi Arabia used to show a South African bike show every week. It looks like there is some spectacular riding, especially for the off road crowd. Some well organized outings and rallies were shown. There appears to be lots of support around the country too.
And yes, it is Springtime moving rapidly towards Summer down there.

"I'm riding 500 miles in South Africa". You just don't hear that every day, Makes my Key West trip sound rather dull.
Have fun! I have never been to Africa and cannot say that I will ever make it down there. Are you planning to take some pictures to share?
