It's a matter of apples and, oranges. Is your motorcycle climate controlled?I rode 16 hrs. at one shot, made a little over 1200 miles but it was a waste of time as the next day was a struggle to make 300.Better off both health wise and, safety to break it up.I for one hate dodging trees growing in the middle of the road and,air horn's from big truck's are a rude way to wake up.
Hmmm
This would be an average speed of 75 to 80 mph, and then figuring in 5 to 7 fuel stops you must have spent 16 hours running pretty close to 90 mph or better. I get the point about riding long miles, been there done that, made a certified IBA Saddlesore sore run through pretty open country. Ran pretty hard, cruise set at speeds between 70 and 80 mph much of the way, pretty minimal stops and made 1000+ in 18 hours.
I guess you are a much harder rider than I, as I can't imagine running 200 more miles in 2 hours less time.
A lot of people that try long endurance stuff are not up for the task. If you are one that likes to push yourself, just go for it. Nobody says anything to all of the extreme sports guys. If you can do it safely then go for it.
I have done 9 Saddlesore 1000 (1k in 24 hours) I have done 2 back to back, if you have never done one I doubt you can do 2200 straight, more to ridin' thatn drivin' a truck. If you can ride 16 hours straight with little stop time you can most likely do it in 2 days.
