Kingman to Oatman on RT66. It's an old mining town neat ride. From there head down to Lake Havasu. Like Jake said the time of year will depend on what and where to ride.
89A from Marble Canyon to Jacob Lake is really fun and scenic. I personally believe that hwy 67 from Jacob Lake to the North Rim is one of the most beautiful roads in the Southwest.

We're going to Vegas / Phoenix in January, would there be any challenges on that route at this time of the year ?
Route 67 to the North Rim will most likely be closed. It sits at around 8300 ft elevation and is not plowed in the winter. 89A should be open. This is a good place to check for up-to-date conditions:
+1 for the Coronado Trail...we did it a couple years ago and had a blast. I think we ran into 2, maybe 3 cars on the entire trip. I enjoyed lots of AZ but wouldn't go without trying to work in Tombstone and Bisbee on future rides.
Gotta do 89A between Flagstaff & Sedona. I had a meeting in Scottsdale last May. Went out a few days early & rented. Didn't know about the canyon & twisties on 89A until I got to them. What a great ride & pleasant surprise. 89A is a must, if you're near Flagstaff or Sedona. Knowing what I know now about it, I'd go south on it, from Flagstaff to Sedona!

Fantastic road to Oatman! Also just to point out the HD dealership in Kingsman. We road from Atlanta and once we reached Tombstone we called a lot of dealerships to get our bikes serviced. Not only were all the dealers very high but they could not give us a time frame on service sense it was short notice. I will not forget Paul because his service for the 10,000 mile was half($185.00). He told us to arrive early before they opened and he took care of us. Have fun on the trip!

We just got home yesterday and have to say that stretch of 89A was awesome, unfortunately we weren't on the bike but did do the drive with the top down. We don't have any mt.'s in MN but the area was very scenic like the area along the Lake Superior.
BB, JRR and Geezer, thanks for the great recommendation. Jerome was a surprise, I wish we hadn't run out of daylight i would have liked to go from Prescott to Yarnell.
