Heading to Florida in mid-March and usually stay around New Smyrna. House we rent is not available this year so we were thinking of going to the Gulf Coast or panhandle area. Any suggestions on a realtor or place to contact for good place to stay. Thanks all.
I like the Port St Joe area that might not break the bank like some places on the Cost will .. Lots of Good Riding Close By in all directions ... Might check this Link ..
Try looking at http://www.vrbo.com (Vacation Rentals By Owner). They list vacation rentals all over the world. We have a cabin in the North Georgia mountains and they keep it booked regularly for us. Great people to work with. You'll find something there.

I like to stay in Apalachicola, but Port St Joe is just a hop skip and jump away with a little more tourism.
Make sure you ride through the Apalachicola Forest. Stop to eat at Family Seafood Restaurant in the forest. It does not look like much. Actually it looks a little "deliverance" scary, but the food is good. And make sure your tank is full before you venture into the forest, there is only one gas station and it may or may not be open after dark.
The Walton beaches along the panhandle have just become too expensive and hoity-toity.
A hidden little gem is Keyton Beach, but there isn't much there for food or entertainment.
Also, look into Gulf Shore/Orange Beach area for good prices on a family vacation, but not as much good riding if that's what you are looking for.

Ah, yes, the Family Coastal Restaurant in Sumatra; we love that place! Some good eateries along US98 too, especially in Apalachicola.
We like St. George Island quite a bit, and pretty much anything you could want to rent is there from a really craptacular hotel called The Buccaneer Inn, to condos to really big houses with swimming pools. Check out Resort Vacation Properties or Collins Vacation Rentals for places available and prices. They usually have something for pretty much any price range.
Peninsula State Park is an Pearl in the middle of an oyster. It is near Port St. Joe Fla. You can rent a cabin there but, you must reserve one in advance. There is some fantastic riding in the area. Make sure you ride to Boss Oyster in Apalachicola (air conditioning was invented there) the food is excelent. While you are there a have a cocktail at the Gibson Inn it is very old world they also have rooms. I love this area of Florida it is very unspoiled. I think you will like it too! Have fun and ride safe.
