Looking for some thoughts on a rental in the Cherokee area. Getting married in the end of May and jumping on the bike and headed that way for our honeymoon. Something close yet "out of the way". Planning to stay in the area for a week and ideally a cabin would be great but not a must. Thanks for the suggestions I know you'll toss my way...
Check out this link. I have stayed here for four years when travel there. Great cabins many different sizes and secluded but near everything. I highly recommend them.
We've stayed many times in Gatlinburg, just thru the Smokies from Cherokee. We went there for our honeymoon as well. Anyway http://www.mountainchalets.com/ is a great company to deal with. Their cabins in the "Timber Ridge" section are beautiful.
Congratulations on your upcoming Wedding. You are coming to a great area for a Honeymoon. Check out this cabin. It's one of three this couple rents. It's in Townsend, TN. Great place and convenient to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Cherokee. You might want to check out Maggie Valley as well. Lot's of nice places there too.

Small world! I stay there too. So far we've stayed in the Rocky Ridge, Cherokee Cottage, and Bears way Cabins.
GREAT people and nice discounts for Military and returning visitors. I stay there at least once a year. The cabins are in a Private little neighborhood on the side of a mountain near Bryson City, NC. So it's in the middle of some really nice riding...

Everytime we go we stay at Mountain Side Chalet, love having the garage to park the bikes in and the fact that it sleeps 8. They are all nice. The military discount is a plus and they are per friendly so I get to take my doxies with me. That always makes the wife happy.
Staying in the Townsend area puts you very close to a lot
of good riding & things to do.You are within a days round
trip ride to the Dragon, the Cherohala Skyway, cross the
Smokies to Cherokee,go to Gatlinburg,Pigeon Forge or much
more.As one who rides the area a lot I prefer the Townsend
side of the mtns.to the Cherokee side.
